Insulation: MYLAR is a transparent, flexible polyester film that is exceptionally strong and durable with a unique set of properties that makes it suitable for many industrial applications, particularly in the electromechanical industry. It offers high tensile, tear, and impact strength. Mylar is inert to water and vapor resistant. It is inert and impermeable to oils, greases, and volatile aromatic compounds. Mylar retains all of these remarkable properties and remains flexible and durable across a temperature range of -70°C to 150°C. Under normal conditions, Mylar does not become brittle and resists aging.
